BrewDog USA Hellcat
Hellcat represents a high-impact collision where the crisp precision of a German Pils meets the assertive intensity of a Cold IPA. Though rooted in traditional lager brewing, this collaboration pushes boundaries with an aggressive malty backbone that supports a vibrant, citrus-forward hop profile. At 6% ABV, it presents a deeper hazy-gold hue than typical for the style, crowned by a persistent creamy head. The palate experiences a fierce balance: the clean, grainy sweetness of Pilsner malt provides a sturdy stage for a modern hop citrus punch, finishing with the characteristic sharp, dry snap and lingering bitterness expected of a world-class lager.
Appearance. Hazy-gold (SRM 4–5) with a creamy, long-lasting white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent citrus notes alongside secondary flowery and herbal scents. Low to medium grainy, sweet, and doughy malt character with a light toasted cracker quality. Very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial grainy malt flavors are firm and present but quickly overcome by aggressive citrus hop flavors and a medium-high bitterness. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering, clean hop bitterness and a touch of mineral sharpness in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with moderate to high carbonation. Crisp and refreshing with a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and a flinty, sharp mouthfeel.
