Bas-Canada GatineauIsTrending – Double Dry Hopped IPA – 10% – 44cl
GatineauIsTrending is een krachtig bier van de ambachtelijke Canadese brouwerij Bas-Canada, gevestigd in de provincie Québec. Deze Double Dry Hopped IPA combineert vakmanschap met een uitgesproken hopkarakter, gericht op de ervaren bierliefhebber die op zoek is naar een intens, gelaagd smaakprofiel.
Het bier heeft een alcoholpercentage van 10% en wordt geleverd in een blik van 44cl. Bij het brouwen zijn drie premium hopsoorten gebruikt: Galaxy (Australië), Nelson Sauvin (Nieuw-Zeeland) en Citra (VS). Deze combinatie resulteert in een rijke aromatische ervaring waarin tonen van tropisch fruit, witte druif, citruszest en lichte dennenhars naar voren komen. De dubbele dryhopping-techniek zorgt ervoor dat deze aroma’s volledig tot hun recht komen zonder dat het mondgevoel zwaar of plakkerig wordt.
Qua uiterlijk presenteert GatineauIsTrending zich als een licht troebele, goudgele IPA met een stevige schuimkraag. De body is vol maar niet log, met een zachte carbonatie die bijdraagt aan een soepele, bijna romige textuur. Ondanks het hoge alcoholpercentage is de balans tussen bitterheid, fruitigheid en alcoholwarmte zorgvuldig afgesteld, waardoor het bier complex maar toegankelijk blijft.
De naam “GatineauIsTrending” verwijst naar de opkomende bierscene in Gatineau, een stad aan de overzijde van de rivier bij Ottawa, en onderstreept de moderne, experimentele stijl van Bas-Canada. Deze IPA is dan ook een representatief voorbeeld van de innovatieve aanpak van de brouwerij, die bekendstaat om hun consistent hoge kwaliteit en uitgesproken hopgebruik.
Aanbevolen om te drinken op een serveertemperatuur van 8 tot 10 graden Celsius, bij voorkeur uit een tulpglas of IPA-glas om de aroma’s optimaal tot hun recht te laten komen. Uitstekend te combineren met gerechten op basis van gegrild vlees, pittige Aziatische keuken of als begeleider bij een kaasplank met blauwader- of schimmelkaas.
GatineauIsTrending is geen instapbier, maar een bewuste keuze voor de drinker die waarde hecht aan uitgesproken smaak, technische precisie en een moderne interpretatie van het IPA-profiel.
