Bierbrouwerij De Arn ZHB House of Lords

English IPA 7.5 º 35 IBU
This English IPA presents a robust sensory profile driven by a blend of classic and modern hops. The dry-hopping process elevates the aromatic intensity, featuring the spicy, floral notes of East Kent Golding alongside the citrus and pine characteristics of Chinook and Cascade. Supported by a sturdy backbone of Pilsner malt and Pale malt, a touch of Cara 120 adds subtle toffee and caramel depth. At 7.5% ABV, it is a full-bodied experience with a firm bitterness provided by Magnum. The result is a well-attenuated, aromatic ale that balances British tradition with assertive, resinous hop complexity.
Appearance. Deep golden to medium amber (8-12 SRM). Clear with a slight haze from dry-hopping. Large, persistent off-white head with fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity hop aroma of floral spice, peppery earthiness, and grapefruit citrus. Low to medium bready malt with light toffee and caramel notes. Moderate fruity esters.
Taste. Assertive hop bitterness leads into flavors of floral spice and citrus rind. The malt profile offers bready grain and toasted caramel sweetness from the Cara 120. Medium-low fruity esters. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering, clean bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium to medium-full body. Moderate carbonation provides a crisp edge. Smooth, light alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated. Low astringency.
