This Double IPA, a collaboration with Equilibrium, presents an intensely saturated hop profile driven by Krush, Eclipse, Citra, and Mosaic. The sensory experience is defined by a thick, soft, and unctuous mouthfeel that carries ripe, bouncy flavors of tropical fruit. Expect dominant notes of sweet orange, succulent peach, and lush mango, complemented by a distinct guava character. While substantial at 8% ABV, the malt remains a clean, supportive backdrop, allowing the modern hop varieties to radiate. It balances the firm bitterness expected of the style with a modern, velvety texture and a vibrant, fruit-forward aromatic intensity.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange; moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with fine lacing; slight to moderate haze consistent with a soft, hop-saturated profile.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring heavy tropical and stone fruit notes of ripe mango, peach, and guava, alongside bright orange citrus from the Citra and Mosaic hops. A faint, clean, grainy malt sweetness sits in the background, with a very subtle, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. A burst of ripe orange and mango is followed by succulent peach and guava flavors. The hop bitterness is firm and moderately high but lacks any harshness, integrated into a soft malt base. The finish is medium-dry with a long-lasting impression of tropical fruit resins and a clean, citrusy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and an unctuous, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a gentle lift. A light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
