Basqueland Brewing

Inspired by the legendary Maui surf break, Jaws is a quintessential West Coast IPA that emphasizes a vibrant hop profile over a lean malt frame. The aroma is dominated by the classic American trio of Centennial, Citra, and Cascade, delivering a sharp punch of fresh grapefruit, zesty lemon, and fragrant floral notes. Its translucent golden body supports a palate defined by assertive bitterness and clean citrus oils, finishing remarkably dry and crisp. The interplay of these hops creates a nostalgic 90s-style experience where resinous pine and citrus zest linger long after the final sip, balanced by a subtle, supportive pale malt sweetness.

Appearance. Medium gold (6-8 SRM) with a translucent, brilliant clarity. Features a medium-sized, white head with excellent persistence and substantial lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent citrus notes of grapefruit zest and lemon peel from Citra and Centennial. Secondary floral notes from Cascade provide a delicate perfume, backed by a very low, clean, grainy malt sweetness and a neutral fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward and assertive. Flavors of fresh citrus and light resinous pine dominate, supported by a low, clean, grainy-sweet malt character. Firm, medium-high bitterness provides a crisp counterpoint to the hop oils. The finish is very dry and clean with a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, crisp texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a refreshing bite. Features a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any harshness or astringency.
