Bad Bones MEATLOAF is an assertive Double IPA that showcases an intricate trio of Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic, and Galaxy hops. The sensory journey begins with an explosion of white grape and crushed gooseberry from the Nelson Sauvin, quickly followed by the signature blueberry and tropical stone fruit notes of Mosaic. Galaxy adds a bright layer of passionfruit and citrus zest. Despite the robust 8.5% ABV, the profile remains remarkably clean, supported by a neutral, grainy malt base that allows the hop saturation to shine. The finish is decisively dry and bitter, highlighting resinous pine and lingering tropical oils without any cloying sweetness, epitomizing the modern high-strength hop profile.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (SRM 7-9). Brilliant clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves decorative lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring white wine, gooseberry, and tropical passionfruit. Mosaic contributions provide underlying notes of blueberry and resinous pine. Very low, clean, neutral maltiness in the background with a subtle, well-integrated alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial impression is a wash of tropical fruit and white grape, transitioning into a firm, moderately high hop bitterness. Hop flavors of passionfruit, citrus, and berry dominate. A low, clean, crackery malt character provides support without adding weight. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a prickly scrub on the palate. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present but not solventy.
