This American Pale Ale showcases a robust malt backbone supporting a vivid tapestry of New Zealand hops. A deep golden pour releases high-intensity aromas of zesty lime from the Motueka dry-hop, balanced by stone fruit notes of apricot and peach driven by Rakau. The addition of Southern Cross in the kettle provides a layer of lemon zest and subtle pine resin. A substantial malt profile offers bready and light caramel depth, creating a balanced but hop-forward experience. The finish is crisp and clean, with a lingering New World citrus bitterness that refreshes the palate without overstaying its welcome.

Appearance. Pale golden to deep amber (6-9 SRM). Large, frothy off-white head with excellent retention and significant lacing. Generally clear with a brilliant shimmer.

Aroma. Moderately high intensity. Distinctive hop character featuring lime and tropical fruit from Motueka, stone fruit from Rakau, and a touch of piney resin from Southern Cross. The malt presence is moderate, leaning toward bread crust and light caramel. Very low fruity esters.

Taste. Initial impression of citrus and stone fruit. Moderate to high bitterness provides a firm structure. Malt flavors of toasted biscuit and honeyed sweetness support the hop profile. The Southern Cross provides a spicy, lemony mid-palate, leading into a medium-dry finish where Motueka lime zest and a clean, resinous bitterness linger.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a lively prickle. Very low alcohol warmth, well-integrated at 5.5% ABV. No astringency.

ARBOR ALES - Arbor Ales have been brewing beer in the fine city of Bristol since early 2007. From their site in Easton, the team currently brews and packages in excess of one and a half million pints a year. That’s pints, full pints and nothing but pints (apart from the odd 440ml can, but they don’t talk about those). Never shying away from trying out new ideas, they have an extensive back catalogue of recipes covering a vast array of styles and ABV’s. Though all different in their own way, the recipes were all born out of a desire to make beer that Arbor are proud of and importantly, that they really want to drink themselves.
