This approachable Blonde Ale presents a delicate balance of soft malt and traditional European hop character. Utilizing the classic Saaz hop variety, the profile opens with a subtle bouquet of sweet spice and floral notes over a clean, grainy malt foundation. The influence of Saaz lends a refined herbal complexity that complements the beer's light, fruity esters. On the palate, a gentle bready sweetness transitions into a crisp, refreshing finish with mild bitterness. At 5.5% ABV, it maintains a smooth, easy-drinking personality, emphasizing a well-integrated fermentation profile and a vibrant, sparkling effervescence suitable for its Basque heritage.
Appearance. Deep gold color (approx. 5–6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a moderate white head that shows fair retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a clean, grainy malt base with hints of fresh bread. The hop character is distinctively floral and spicy, reflecting the Saaz influence, accompanied by very low pear-like fruity esters. No DMS or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial soft bready maltiness leads to a light, spicy, and herbal hop flavor. Bitterness is medium-low, providing just enough structure to balance the malt without lingering. The fermentation is clean, allowing a subtle hint of apple or pear fruitiness to emerge before a medium-dry, crisp finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that provides a lively, scrubbing sensation. Smooth texture with no noticeable astringency and a very faint, pleasant alcohol warmth.
