1989 Brewing Roots
This organic American IPA delivers a beautifully balanced sensory experience. A pale gold pour unleashes bright aromas of tropical stone fruit and fresh citrus, underpinned by a clean, light grainy malt backbone. On the palate, initial flavors of sweet melon and orange zest yield to a smooth, supportive malt sweetness. True to its character, the experience culminates in a crisp, dry finish marked by a clean, lingering piney bitterness that asserts itself without overpowering. Smooth and moderately carbonated, it represents a harmonious, refreshing, and fruit-forward expression of the classic style.
Appearance. Clear, medium gold with a thick, persistent white head that leaves attractive lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop aroma of tropical fruit, melon, and citrus, backed by a subtle, clean, grainy-sweet malt profile and a very low, clean fermentation ester profile.
Taste. Crisp initial impression of citrus peel and ripe stone fruit, followed by a light, supportive bready malt sweetness. Firm but balanced bitterness leads to a dry, clean finish with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste.
